We’re so ready for the weekend, especially with these events taking place around Chicagoland.
First, stop by The Art Center Highland Park for their annual art sale using recycled and pre-owned items. Then, take in some Shakespeare in one of Chicago’s parks. And while you’re in the city, don’t miss the Newberry Book Fair or Wicker Park Fest.
Finally, enjoy some festival fun at Westfield Old Orchard.
Opens July 24
The Art Center Highland Park’s annual recycled/pre-owned art sale opens this Friday with a benefit auction and runs through Aug. 14. To purchase tickets for the benefit or make a donation, call 847-432-1888.
Chicago Shakespeare Theater is bringing “Shakespeare’s Greatest Hits,” an original production, to 17 parks across Chicago through Aug. 16. This weekend, see free performances at Loyola Park and Columbus Park. Find a complete schedule here.
One of the largest used-book sales in the country, this fair offers more than 120,000 used books in 70 categories. And with most priced at $2 or less, you should probably bring a few bags to fill up. The fair begins on Thursday.
In addition to shopping your favorite Westfield Old Orchard stores this weekend, stop by this art festival, now in its 26th year, for live music, food, art bingo, a color creation station, a still life photography contest and photo booth.
Munch on food from Dimo’s Pizza, Cheesie’s Pub & Grill, Goddess & Grocer and more while hearing up-and-coming bands. You can also visit Kids Fest for face painting, a bungee run, hair streaking, a bounce house, henna tattoos and more.
- The GreenBuilt Home Tour is July 25-26 in Geneva, Oak Park and Hampshire. Find more information here.
