Take a break from your Thanksgiving preparations with these fun events.
If you can believe it, it’s already time for another Christkindlmarket. Looking to shop closer to home? Don’t miss the Woman’s Club of Evanston’s Cornucopia Holiday Gift Show.
You can also get in the holiday spirit with a mini road trip to see Illumination at The Morton Arboretum, or make your way to Chicago to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse light up Michigan Avenue.
Plus, if you’re not ready for holiday festivities (it is, after all, still before Thanksgiving), head out to a concert of Lyric Opera Chorus favorites.
Opens Nov. 21
This holiday favorite is back for its 19th year. Get in the holiday spirit as you shop for ornaments, beer steins, jewelry, clothes, décor and more. Then, warm up with traditional German food and drink.
Opens Nov. 21
Whether you’re in need of a date night or family outing, this is a fun outing for everyone. The arboretum will be filled with trees lit by LED lights that respond to touch and sound.
Do some good as you shop from nearly 60 local and regional artisans selling apparel, accessories, home décor, food, jewelry and more. Proceeds will benefit local charities.
The Lyric Opera Chorus, under the direction of Michael Black, will perform favorite works from the Lyric’s current season and 60 year history. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the chorus at its best!
Before the Tree-Lighting Parade makes its way down Michigan Avenue with the help of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, families can visit Lights Festival Lane or enjoy performances by Nico and Vinz, Jacquie Lee, Kendall Schmidt and more. The night will end with fireworks over the Chicago River.
