The North Shore Senior Center, founded in 1956, is a non-profit organization of professionals and volunteers enhancing the lives of seniors and families in 23 north suburban Chicago communities. A resource for positive aging, NSSC provides options for health, independence, and well-being and offers more than 90 programs per week. It is the first in Illinois and among the first eight centers nationally to be accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers, a constituent unit of the National Council on Aging. Our mission is to support the independence and well-being of older adults, enhance their dignity and self respect and promote their participation in all aspects of community life. The North Shore Senior Center is a non-profit organization that serves seniors and their families in 23 north suburban communities. NSSC offers clubs, classes, daytrips and programs all year round. Our campus features a library, the A & A Café, an auditorium, meeting rooms, a computer lab, Mim’s Gift Shop and our fiber and fine arts studios. The Center also provides support groups, peer counseling, geriatric care coordination, Medicare and tax assistance, memory loss programs and other valuable social service programs. Other locations include:Evanston and Morton Grove.
