8 Fun Fitness Classes to Help You Stay in Shape This Summer

Hot weather can make it hard to get outside and go for a run or stay active. But that doesn’t mean that all hope is lost! These fitness classes will make you forget you’re working out, and keep you coming back week after week.

1. R&B Yoga

The R&B Yoga series brings together relaxing yoga, delicious brunch and great music for a series of yoga events held on the rooftop of Whiskey Business in Wicker Park. For $40, not only do you get an hour of yoga with live DJ Elijah Jamal playing music by your favorite artists, but there is also a healthy breakfast buffet and unlimited mimosas and Bloody Marys after class. 2. Air Aerial Fitness

Engage your core and take flight at Air Aerial Fitness, where the instructors guide you on aerial hammocks with moves that are a fusion of muscle conditioning, Pilates, ballet and HIIT. Try a 50-minute beginner class for foundation for $30, then move to the Air class to up the ante or try Air Flow for an extension of your normal yoga practice. Just want to shred your abs? 3. Hang 5 Fitness

Hang 5 Fitness brings surfing indoors with Surfset boards that mimic the instability of surf or paddleboards to engage your core. Pilates and yoga get an added challenge as you have to maintain balance, while the Surf Blend and Bikini Bootcamp kick it up a notch with more strength moves. 4. Unanimous Boxing Gym

Channel your inner fight club at Unanimous Boxing Gym, where you can take women-only or coed boxing classes, or tear it up on your own with a personal trainer. 5. Bollywood Groove

With 30 classes in spaces around Chicago, Bollywood Groove will ensure you never have to do boring cardio again. The hour of dancing will fly by and leave you sweaty and energized from performing dynamic moves to Bollywood hit music. 6. Bellicon

Bellicon is no child’s play, though these trampoline workouts will definitely bring out the kid in you. This low-impact exercise can make you seriously sweat. Try out the fast-paced cardio SwissJump class, get your heart pumping with the HIIT class bellicon Circle, or do a more rejuvenating session with bellicon Move. 7. Stiletto Dance Studio

While most people think pole dancing is for the club, Stiletto Dance Studio removes that stigma with dance classes that take some serious strength. It’s probably the only gym you’ll ever go to that encourages wearing high heels during your workout, making you feel confident and sexy while you get fit. The studio features three levels of pole dancing, Pumpography dance workouts, belly dancing, circus classes, and twerking lessons among many more offered. 8. Chicago Paddle Company

Enjoy the hot summer weather and beaches in a new way with stand-up paddling (SUP) at Chicago Paddle Company, located on Kathy Osterman Beach. You can paddle solo or with friends by renting equipment, or go to SUP Core Fit, Pilates, or Yoga for a class atmosphere.
