Sip on These Summer Drinks

We’ve got two tasty drinks perfect for summer day—one to cool off a hot afternoon, and another to warm up a cool evening.

These recipes were provided by Link’s Sweet Bean on Greenleaf in Wilmette. The shop is offering a new line of 50 smoothies, bubble teas and specialty drinks this summer, all inspired by the North Shore. Flavors include the Volcanic Botanic, Trevians Mango Madness and Sheridan Rocky Road.

Sixteen Candles Slushie: For 16 oz cup: Fill cup with with 2/3 ice and 1/3 frozen strawberries. Add 2 oz strawberry syrup. Fill cup with lemonade. Blend until slushy.

Beachside S’mores: For 16 oz cup: Take 2 shots espresso (can be replaced with 1/2 cup very strong brewed coffee) and mix with a good quality semi-sweet chocolate syrup, such as Ghirardelli or Girard. Steam, or warm, 1 cup of milk and mix with the coffee mixture. Drop 1/4 cup of mini marshmallows and mix. Top with whipped cream and graham cracker crumbs.
