Rise and shine! DMK Restaurants has opened Arlen’s Chicken in Evanston. It’s a casual fried chicken joint where you’ll find delectable fried chicken and biscuit sandwiches, crispy biscuits and tater tots, not-just-for-kids chicken nuggets and DMK’s signature killer milkshakes — the toasted marshmallow is to die for. If you can’t wait until you get home, they’ve got tables (with thoughtfully placed rolls of paper towels) where you can dig in. They’re serving breakfast all day in the form of their Egg on a Biscuit sandwich, available with cheese and your choice of bacon, sausage or crispy chicken. And the interior could not be cuter, with a mural of three funky chickens watching over you on one wall and an inspired chicken collage on the other. Delivery and catering are both available; they are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday – Sunday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays).
