The Easiest Caramel Apples Ever

Caramel apples are a fall treat and they’re so simple, your kids can almost make them by themselves.

And if you want to get fancy, just add candy, nuts—whatever will stick to the caramel.

Tart, crisp apples such as Granny Smith or MacIntosh are best, but you can use any apple you have, just make sure to wash and dry the apple before starting.

  • 1 lb. caramels
  • 6 to 8 apples
  • Sticks
  • Decorations optional

Place wax paper on a cookie sheet. Spray it lightly with non-stick spray. In a glass bowl melt the caramels in the microwave making sure not to scorch the caramel by cooking it too long. Poke a stick in the top of the apple and then dip the apple 3/4’s of the way into the caramel and then dip the bottom into any of the decorations or cool it slightly and drizzle it with chocolate. Makes 6 to 8.

Suggestions to take your caramel apple over the top:

Roll in crushed pecans and then dip in melted milk chocolate.

Dip in melted white chocolate and then roll in crushed chocolate filled cookies.

Dip in melted white chocolate and then roll in mini chocolate chips.

Dip in melted chocolate and then roll in chopped up candy bars or chopped pretzels.
