September 18, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Winnetka shop The Book Stall (811 Elm Street) is delighted to host Daniel Joshua Rubin as he leads a writing workshop based on his book “27 Essential Principles of Story” on Sunday, September 18 at 3:00 pm. In this 75-minute, family friendly, in-person class, he will help you build a professional-quality outline for your story. With an informal talk suitable for writers at any level, and simple, and fun two-minute writing exercises, you’ll learn principles that can be applied to novels, screenplays, short stories, personal essays, or even songs. You’ll benefit from watching the film Finding Nemo prior to the workshop–Rubin will reference it as he discusses principles of story. Rubin is an energetic and entertaining speaker who peppers his talks with pop culture references and is committed to helping writers become more confident, authentic storytellers.

This is a ticketed event. The ticket fee of $21.75 includes a copy of Rubin’s book, “27 Essential Principles of Story,” as well as all writing materials. Your copy will be waiting for you when you arrive for the workshop. To purchase a ticket, please visit The Book Stall website.
