D39 Educational Foundation 5th Annual “Attire to Inspire” Fashion Show
November 7, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The District 39 Educational Foundation announces its 5th Annual “Attire to Inspire” Fashion Show held at the Michigan Shores Club on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 7-9:30 p.m. With food stations, boutique shopping, a raffle, a fashion show, and an anticipated 150 guests in attendance, the evening offers a memorable community event.
Co-chairs Kim Peters, Jen Truszkowski, and Michele Coffey began planning the event in early summer 2018. This year’s event varies from the afternoon format of previous years and instead offers an evening of complimentary wine from 7-7:45 p.m., food stations, and flexible seating. Similar to last year’s event, the fashion show will have a true runway with chairs arranged along both sides, allowing guests to capture a close-up view of the fall fashions, with time allotted for shopping and socializing.
With eight local boutiques from Wilmette, Winnetka, and Evanston, displaying the latest fall styles and home goods, shoppers will revel in selections from Exhibit, Dragonfly, Hubba Hubba, Vibrato, Lad & Lassie, Share, Londo Mondo, and Yogaview. Fifteen percent of all sales will be donated back to the D39 Educational Foundation and stores will continue to donate 15 percent of sales of shoppers who attended the event until the Monday following the event.
The 16 models include members from the District 39 school’s PTA/O Executive Boards and D39 Educational Foundation Board Members.
A $75 ticket includes complimentary wine from 7-7:45 p.m., food stations, and fashion show. With an additional $39 donation, attendees will receive a D39 Educational Foundation branded recyclable shopping bag. Attendees can purchase one $39 raffle ticket (or 3 tickets for $100) to win a coveted Trivia Night table.
All net proceeds from the “Attire to Inspire” Fashion Show benefit the District 39 Educational Foundation, specifically the Gripp Grant Program. The District 39 Educational Foundation has been incorporated as a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization since 1993. The Foundation Board of Trustees is an independent volunteer group which receives no financial compensation and are solely responsible for raising and granting funds for projects that expand, enrich, and complement educational opportunities for the students, staff, and community in District 39.
