Go Green Reads and The Book Stall Present Dan Lambe: “Now is the Time for Trees”

July 11 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Book Stall (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) proudly partners with Go Green Reads to welcome Dan Lambe, author of “Now is the Time for Trees” and CEO of The Arbor Day Foundation, on Monday, July 11 at 6:30 pm. This special Go Green Reads author event features the book “Now is the Time for Trees.” Released to time with The Arbor Day Foundation’s 50th anniversary and celebrate the organization’s important role in conservation, Lambe’s book hopes to energize readers to plant trees as a means of individual climate activism. This program is free and open to the public.

More About the Book: “Now is the Time for Trees” not only inspires environmental action, it provides simple first steps, with a how-to guide to choosing the right tree and foolproof advice for planting success. To protect our planet, everyone needs to join the movement to plant the millions of trees needed to have a measurable and lasting impact against climate change. Every tree, whether in a rain forest or city park, helps restore our environment by reversing the negative effects of climate change. For every copy of “Now is the Time for Trees” sold, a tree will be planted with the royalties from the sale.

More About the Author: Dan Lambe is the Chief Executive of The Arbor Day Foundation. Under his 17 years at the helm, it has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees. Dan has led the development of innovative programs that expand the organization’s global reach and spearheads The Arbor Day Foundation’s Evergreen Alliance, a strategic group of corporate leaders that strive to plant 100 million trees and inspire over 5 million tree planters by the end of 2022. Dan is a recipient of the Chief Honor Award, the U.S. Forest Service’s highest award, sits on several boards and steering committees promoting sustainable forestry, and is a trusted resource for corporate sustainability leaders and the media. He’s regularly featured as a speaker at conferences, and a source for publications such as CNN, NPR, “Popular Science,” and “Fast Company.”

More About The Arbor Day Foundation: With more than one million members, supporters, and valued partners, The Arbor Day Foundation has helped plant more than 350 million trees in neighborhoods, communities, cities, and forests throughout the world to ensure a greener and healthier future for everyone.
