Midwest is Best Wine Dinner at Anker

On Wednesday, August 29th popular Wicker Park haunts Anker and The Violet Hour are proud to present a “Midwest is Best” wine dinner, a progressive dining experience dedicated to showcasing fresh and enticing culinary offerings from local purveyors around the Great Lakes region. The evening begins at 6:30 PM at The Violet Hour, where guests can imbibe in The Fox Hunt, a, refreshing and smooth craft cocktail featuring Pimm’s #1, Letherbee Gin, lemon, cyan and Peychaud’s bitters.
At 6:55 PM attendees will be escorted across Damen Avenue to Anker’s intimate and inviting semi-private dining area for the second part of the evening, where at 7 PM they will enjoy a delightful four-course menu of the restaurant’s signature light and rustic cuisine created by Chef de Cuisine AJ Walker. Comprised of elevated interpretations of time-honored Midwestern dishes featuring seasonal ingredients and regionally sourced meats and produce, each course will be served family style and accompanied by wine samplings from some of Illinois and Michigan’s premier vineyards.
