Mix at Six: Ambi Subramaniam

“Hailed as “the new king of Indian classical violin” (The Times of India) and “India’s Itzhak Perlman” (Ozy Magazine), Ambi Subramaniam has been trained by his father and guru Dr. L. Subramaniam from the age of three and gave his first performance at the age of seven. He has received awards and recognitions including the Ritz Icon of the Year Award, the Rotary Youth Award, two Global Indian Music Awards, and was awarded a Golden Violin from Sri Jayendra Saraswati when he was 18 years old.

Today, Subramaniam regularly plays duet violin concerts with Dr. L. Subramaniam and solo concerts. He has performed at the prestigious Dussehra Festival at the Mysore Palace and the Centenary Celebration of the Banglaore Gayana Samaj in India; the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad; the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival in New York; the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago; the Royal Festival Hall in London; the Maximum India Festival at Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; and the Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman.”
