Orner Brothers Stories

Highland Park Public Library’s Meet The Author series will serve as a homecoming of sorts as the Library welcomes Highland Park natives, brothers, and acclaimed writers Peter Orner and Eric Orner to discuss their new books. “Still No Word From You: Notes in the Margin” is Peter Orner’s new book, a collection essays and intimate stories that meld the lived life and the reading life. “SMAHTGUY: The Life and Times of Barney Frank” is Eric Orner’s debut graphic novel where he depicts the iconic and iconoclastic life of congressman Barney Frank, confirming him as a hero for our age.
The acclaimed writers will be joined in conversation with Chris Abani, novelist, poet, essayist, screenwriter, playwright, and English professor at Northwestern University. Abani is known as an international voice on humanitarianism, art, ethics, and our shared political responsibility.
The event is free and open to the public. Books will be for sale and the evening will conclude with a book signing.
