Crafts to make with your little pumpkins!

 

Jugs of candy? Goblin toes on a platter? Halloween is in the air and we are celebrating with some clever crafts and ghoul recipes.

Eeee-ko Friendly Candy Carrier

Go Green this Halloween with this easy to make candy tote made from an empty milk jug.

You Need:

  • Milk jug
  • Duct tape
  • Non-toxic acrylic paint
  • Felt
  • Tacky glue
  • Construction paper, googly eyes, beads and other decorative craft supplies.
  • Chenille stems or ribbon (for handle)
  • Mod Podge and brush

Directions
1.    Cut off the top of the jug with sharp scissors.
2.    Cover the rough edges with duct tape.
3.    Paint jug with 2-3 coats of acrylic paint.
4.    When paint is dry, use felt, construction paper and googly eyes to give the carrier a face and personality.
5.    To make the handle, first cut two small holes on opposite sides of the carrier.  Thread a chenille steam or ribbon through the holes, adding beads if desired.

Green Goblin Toes
After making these treats you may never want a pedicure again.

You need:

  • Nutter Butter cookies
  • Green candy melts (available at craft stores)
  • Red candy melts (available at craft stores)
  • Golden Grahams cereal
  • Cocoa Puffs cereal
  • Wax paper
  • Clean paintbrushes

Directions:
1. Heat green candy melts in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, or until melted.
2. Dip cookies in green candy melts and set on wax paper.
3. Place one cocoa puff “wart” on each cookie and paint green with melted candy.
4. Next, place one Golden Grahams “toenail” on the end of each cookie.
5. Melt red candy melts in the microwave.
6. Paint toenails red.
7. Allow cookies to set and enjoy. Bone Appetite!

Candy Wrapper Picture Frame
You can enjoy the sweet memories of Halloween all year long with this picture frame made with old candy wrappers.

You need:

  • Unfinished wood frame (or, repurpose a wood frame you no longer use)
  • Candy wrappers
  • Mod Podge and brush

Directions:

1. Trim wrappers as desired.
2. Glue wrappers to frame with Mod Podge.
3. Seal with a topcoat or two of Mod Podge and wait several hours until dry.
4. Add your favorite Halloween picture.

The Bowl of Eyeballs
This Halloween craft will have them looking for ghouls…with lot of extra eyes to help! Creepy fun.

You Need:

  • Wiffle balls
  • White fabric (cut into 8 ½” x 11” squares and cut into 2” X 4” strips)
  • Freezer paper (cut into 8 ½” x 11” squares)
  • Fabric glue
  • Large bowl

Directions:
1. Get your fabric ready for printing by placing freezer paper, wax side down, on the “wrong” side of the fabric.  Use an iron to fuse the fabric to the paper.
2. Download the eyeball PDF here.

3. Print the eyeball images onto your fabric.
4. Peel freezer paper away from fabric and cut out each eyeball, being sure to leave a 1” to 2” border.
5. Wrap each ball with strips of fabric.
6. Lay eyes on balls and glue where necessary.
7. When dry, arrange eyeballs in a bowl and place on your favorite table.  Boo-tiful!
