Untying the Human Knot: Managing Stress & Anxiety in Today’s World

On Saturday, June 10, the public is invited to the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute’s 21st annual community mental health conference.
This year’s theme is Untying the Human Knot: Managing Stress & Anxiety in Today’s World. The conference, which will be held at Evanston Township High School (1600 Dodge Ave., Evanston, Ill., 60201) from 9:30am-3:30pm, includes a 90-minute panel presentation followed by three rounds of professional-led breakout sessions.
Tickets will be available for $45 (with an added $25 for licensed mental health professionals seeking CEUs). Partial and full scholarships are available. Registration opens on Monday, May 8, at https://naomicoheninstitute.org/.
The opening panel presentation includes:
· Orson Morrison, Ph.D. Dr. Morrison is the Associate Director of Clinical Services for DePaul University. He has served the community for almost 20 years. He is also the owner of LifeSpan Counseling and Psychological Services, LLP, in Oak Park.
· Paula Young, Ph.D. Dr. Young has been associated with Rogers Behavioral Health for more than seven years and now serves as its clinical director. Past positions include those at The Family Institute at Northwestern, Northwestern University, and Rush University Medical Center.
· Gabriela Diaz. Ms. Diaz is the Program Coordinator at Erasing the Distance, a Chicago nonprofit that uses the power of performance to disarm stigma, spark dialogue, educate, and promote healing surrounding issues of mental health.
The panel will be moderated by Michael Horowitz, Ph.D., President, TCS Education System, which includes The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
