Best Restaurant Desserts When You’re on a Diet

Just because you’re on a diet doesn’t mean you have to skip dessert!

There are plenty of great dessert options right in our own backyard. But let’s remember we’re on a diet so our dessert will have to be less than 200 calories…the same amount of calories as if you had decided to eat a large banana!

Red Mango

Order: A small “original” with kiwi and mango. The yogurt has approximately 100 calories per serving. There are only four flavors of yogurt to choose from (Original and three that change seasonally), but you can add lots of toppings. I like mine with blueberries and mini-Ghirardelli dark chocolate chips.

Girlfriend Tip: This yogurt isn’t fakey-fakey. It’s all-natural, non-fat, certified gluten-free, no artificial sweetners and packed with live and active probiotic cultures.

Order: A small non-fat, no-sugar-added vanilla soft serve frozen yogurt topped with kiwi and strawberries (110-150 calories). Yogen Fruz features low-fat or non-fat frozen yogurt made with skim milk and topped with fresh or frozen fruit. Sugar-free options are available as is soft serve yogurt with probiotics. All are under 200 calories. All are guilt free. All are delicious.

Loves Yogurt

Order: Peanut butter/chocolate sugar-free/non fat frozen yogurt (5 oz. sugar-free, fat-free yogurt is under 100 calories). Even a large low fat Dutch chocolate only has 225 calories…you can’t go wrong! Flavors change daily but there are always one or two sugar–free/non-fat frozen yogurts available.

Order: Berry Fulfilling Light Smoothie (150 calories in a 15 oz size). Other light smoothies include Mango Mantra and Strawberry Nirvana (all only 150 calories for a 16 oz. size). Also, we added a free “boost.” Pick from: Daily Vitamin, Energy Boost, Immunity Boost, Calcium Boost, Soy Protein, or Green Caffeine.

Order: A tall Coffee Frappuccino Light Blended Coffee. Order it no whip and it’s just 90 calories and awesome! Some people prefer a Mocha Frappucicino Light (110 calories), or a Caramel Frappaccino Light (130 calories) but I think they have a slightly artificial taste.
