Pick Your Signature Holiday Cocktail

Looking for something to spice up New Year’s Eve? Try one of these cocktail recipes:

Blood Orange Bellini
Serves 10

  • 1 quart blood orange juice
  • 1 bottle Prosecco or Champagne

Refrigerate both the juice and Prosecco in the coldest part of your refrigerator. When guests arrive, pour an inch or two of juice into each glass. Slowly add the Prosecco and serve.

 

Spiced and Spiked (or not) Apple Cider
Serves 10

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups apple brandy (for the adults)

Heat cider, cinnamon, cloves and orange, until warm and fragrant. You can leave on simmer throughout the party. For adults, put one shot of brandy in a mug, then add cider.

 

Bloody Mary
Serves 6

  • 36 ounces tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 cup vodka
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • Garnishes: celery stalks, lemon wedges

Mix all ingredients together and serve over ice. Leave out horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and lemons so guests can flavor to taste.

 

Savory Martini
Serves 2

  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 4 dashes dry vermouth
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • Garnish: Blue cheese olives on rosemary sprigs

Put vodka, vermouth and rosemary into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain and pour into a martini glass and garnish.
