Best Dressed Women of 2010

To say that we had fun picking our Best Dressed Women of 2010 is an understatement, indeed.

It started when we gathered a group of well-dressed and well-connected women: former Joffrey Chairman Maureen Dwyer Smith; former Rush Fashion Show Chair Susan Bottum; Stephanie Wilson of the Winnetka Board of the Northwestern University Settlement Association; Lauren Cavallo Runzel, owner of Gavin Evanston; Lorraine Kaplan, independent sales agency owner, representing the Worth Collection and W Clothing by Worth; Allyson Bass, co-owner of Frances Heffernan and Frannie in Winnetka; and Carrie Kane and Sharon Watrous, co-owners of Chalk in Evanston. This dream team helped us pick out the best dressed women who have appeared in our “Better Makers and Their Impact” photos in the past year.

When asked about their style, almost all of the featured women described their look as “classic, simple and elegant.” Most of them dress up frequently to support the causes they hold dear:

Jennifer Sobecki, Designs for Dignity

Althea Walton, the American Civil Liberties Union

Ellen Stirling, the Lyric Opera

Robin Doerge, the Shedd Aquarium

Cynthia La Schiazza, Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation
