Fur Real! Mountain Hides Urban Pop-Up Shop

When you think “high fashion,” “recycled” might not come to mind.

But Mountain Hides, the year-old luxury leatherwear and accessory line, is launching their vintage and repurposed fur collection this fall at their urban pop-up shop.

When Winnetka designers Jodi Henderson and Laura Schoch decided to delve into fur, they started with fur collars on their signature suede wraps. “Our clients couldn’t get enough of the fur, so we decided to add a fur collection that would compliment our leather line and there is nothing like great vintage fur,” Henderson says

Mountain Hides is right on trend, as fur and leather were both hot items on the runway for fall and winter. The trend continued at New York Fashion Week in September with the launch of the Spring 2015 collections.

“All of our furs are one-of-a-kind unique statements,” Schoch says. “We are not to trying to replace you grandmother’s floor-length mink; these are fashion pieces that can be worn with shredded denim or dressed up for a night in the city.”

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mountain Hides is partnering with Bright Pink for the event. A portion of sales will go to the organization to aid in the fight against breast cancer.

The show will also feature their complete collection of leatherwear, bags, unique jewelry and all-new cashmere items.
