There’s a new destination for contact lenses and designer eyewear in Evanston.
Lumen Optical opened in early December and offers a comprehensive eye exam with a contact lens fitting and retinal imaging for $79. Lumen uses state-of-the-art technology, including a retinal imaging machine that provides non-contact pole-to-periphery views of more than 80 percent of the retina in one capture, the ICare Tonometer (replacing the puff of air test) and an OTCH scan that checks for defects in internal layers of your eye, all included in the standard eye exam at no additional cost.
If you decide to order glasses, scratch resistant polycarbonate lenses with anti-glare and UV protection are also $79, and you’ll find frames from brands like Prada, Tory Burch, Kate Spade and Ray Ban. Plus, their lab delivers your new glasses to the store within 48 hours.
