A.G. Krone is a North Shore ‘Renaissance Woman’

Since she moved to the Chicago area from Denmark in the ’60s, A.G. Krone has been quietly working to make life a little more beautiful here.

The mother of 3—and now grandmother of 9—is passionate about fashion, so while she raised her children, she started her own business designing bridesmaid dresses out of her home in Winnetka. Then, she started another business importing Danish yarns for yarn shops all over the United States. Now, as a real estate agent for Koenig & Strey in Winnetka, Krone uses her creativity to see the potential in houses and “help people find their dream homes,” she says.

At the same time, Krone was a deeply involved in the community on many levels: She has been active in the Winnetka school PTA, the Winnetka Community House Women’s Board, the Antique & Modernism Show Boards, local garden clubs, the Winnetka Tennis and Golf Clubs and was a Cub Scout den leader. She now lives in Northfield.

When she’s not working full-time—still, at age 64—you’ll find her knitting, golfing, hiking, horse-back-riding, traveling or gardening.
