Carlie Miklik Give the Gift of Music

For the last 20 years, Carlie Miklik, owner and sole proprietor of the Wilmette Voice Studio, has shared her love of music with children and adults from across the North Shore, giving them the courage to sing—and often helping them win parts in school and community shows.

“I learned to sing before I learned to talk,” she says.

She had a successful performance career before dedicating herself to teaching full-time. She taught for 9 years at St. Francis Xavier School in Wilmette.

Nowadays Miklik has 2 dozen students—mostly teens and kids, with just a handful of adults. Her adult students are songwriters, storytellers, hospice singers and professional performers.

She has volunteered her performance services for programs the Chicago Botanic Garden and has created garden tours. She also volunteers with the Education Department of the Lyric Opera and has performed at numerous churches and the Baha’i Temple.
