Lung cancer impacts one in 14 Americans and is the leading cause of cancer death.
LUNGevity is dedicated to improving lung cancer survival rates and providing a better quality of life to patients suffering from lung cancer. They are working towards accomplishing their mission by financing research on early detection and treatment options. LUNGeeavity also provides support for those affected by lung cancer through their online community.
The Breathe Deep Deerfield event, taking place on Sunday May 6th at Deerfield High School, is being held to support LUNGevity. A teen committee comprised of more than 30 students in middle school and high school is contributing their time and passion to the event. There will be a 5k fun run and a one mile walk, as well as a balloon launch to commemorate those who have lost their battle with lung cancer.
