Quick and Easy: Designing for Veterans

Soldiers returning from war face many challenges. If they have received injuries that result in physical disability, a soldier’s home may multiply those challenges.

Designing for Veterans is a nonprofit working to create a home environment that allows injured veterans to live independently without barriers. They rely on monetary donations as well as volunteer design services to successfully complete each project.

They are currently working on the home of Army SGT Cameron Crouch. While in Iraq, SGT Crouch sustained an injury that resulted in the loss of both legs below the knee, two synthetic spines and more than twenty surgeries. As a result, the interior of his home no longer meets all of his needs.

Designing for Veterans is creating a new master bedroom and bath that they hope to finish by the end of March. They are currently accepting financial donations, volunteer professional services and furniture donations. To learn more about this project and how to donate, please visit Designing for Veterans.
