Join Northbrook Court as they partner with Youth Services to help children and families in need.
A “Wish List” program has been established for local area children, which Northbrook Court, as well as its patrons and merchants, hope to help fulfill throughout the holidays.
Some popular gift wishes that have been received by Youth Services from local area children include books, boots, coats, puzzles, board games, Lego sets, dolls, clothing, bath and body products, gift cards, and jewelry, all available from Northbrook Court retailers.
“We would never be able to assist these families without the help of our wonderful donors,” says Nancy Bloom, Executive Director of Youth Services. “We are thrilled that Northbrook Court has decided to partner with Youth Services for the second time this year and offer their patrons and merchants the opportunity to become donors.”
Northbrook Court has established various drop-off locations throughout the shopping center. Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, Northbrook Park District and the Glenview Park District will also serve as donation locations. Youth Services asks that these donated items be new with original tags and not wrapped.
For the past 20 years, Youth Services has been helping to bring happy holidays to those in the community who are in need. Last year, the agency served over 2,100 individuals and expects that number to increase this year. Each year, Youth Services guarantees essentials such as coats, boots, underwear and socks, to their participants ages 18 and under, and the organization also provides a fun item or two such as a game or toy.
“We are aware of the economy right now and how hard it is for some families in the local communities, especially during the holiday season,” said Shannon Ridgeway, Marketing Manager at Northbrook Court. “We really want to increase awareness of this and be able to provide as much as we can for these families.”
There will be many drop-off locations available at various areas around the shopping center and off-site donation bins will be placed at Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook, Northbrook Park District and the Glenview Park District.
