On Monday, May 30, the Teen Board of the Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired came together to help make Memorial Day Weekend 2016 just a little bit fluffier. The Teen Board, consisting of young adults from different high schools in the North Shore area, held the Patriotic Pooches Dog Wash at the Winnetka Memorial Day Parade.

Approximately 50 pups, large and small, were best-in-show worthy after being shampooed, dried and accessorized with an adorable red, white and blue bandana. The dog wash, in addition to a bake sale and raffle with prizes of gift cards to Peet’s Coffee, Baker Boys, Salon Vole, Posh Nails and More, and Noah’s Arc, raised an outstanding $1,720. The funds will benefit the Hadley Institute’s award-winning programs for those who are blind or visually impaired and their families.
