Quick and Easy: BUILD Annual Dinner

MAD-BUILD-annual-dinnerHelp at-risk youth become successful members of society by attending the “Building Teams, Building Dreams” BUILD Annual Dinner.

Despite the violence on Chicago’s streets, BUILD works to ensure that our youth will survive, flourish and achieve their dreams.

What: An interactive celebration with youth who, through BUILD’s game-changing programs, are moving from despair to hope, from dropping out of school to becoming leaders.

Where: Soldier Field, United Club

When: Friday, May 3, 5:45-10 p.m.

The organization: BUILD’s mission is to engage at-risk youth so they can realize their educational and career potential and contribute to the stability, safety and well-being of our communities.

Founded by Hank Bach and Bob Jemilo In 1969, BUILD started out as a gang-intervention program that served fewer than 200 gang-affiliated youth in one community. Today, they serve more than 4,127 youth annually in 10 Chicago communities. BUILD also serves teens from the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center (CCJTDC) by helping them acculturate into the public school system and stay away from crime and the court system.

By 2020 they hope to become the premier provider of proven-effective youth development services, targeted at at-risk youth and communities.
