Update: Make It Better Teams Up With CBS and Red Cross to Raise $150,000 for Hurricane Relief

6 Ways to Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

This past summer and fall, Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria ravaged parts of Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, among other areas. Eager to help as best we could from Chicago, Make It Better teamed up with the Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois to raise funds for hurricane victims. We were also proud to partner with CBS Chicago for their #CBSCaresChicago telethon on Oct. 5.

We are happy to announce that, through our microsite, generous matching grants from the Edwardson Family Foundation and the Nick and Susan Noyes Family, the CBS Chicago telethon, and the incredible support of our readers, we were able to raise more than $150,000 for the Red Cross and their efforts to provide shelter, food, and much more to victims.

There is still work to be done (as NBC News writes, “Puerto Rico is still in crisis,” and U.S. News & World Report states that Hurricane Harvey victims continue to require help), so learn more about how you can make the most of your donation with Charity Navigator (Harvey, Irma, and Maria).
