Beam, Inc. Gives Back

In 1795, Jacob Beam sold his first barrel of whiskey.

Since then, the company has acquired other venerable brands including Courvoisier, established in France in 1843, and Sauza, started in Tequila, Mexico in 1873. Now headquartered in Deerfield, but with production continuing in the countries of origin, Beam, Inc. has a strong commitment to philanthropy both globally and locally.

“For the past five years, Beam has been proud to give back to those military men, women and their families who have given so much to our country,” says Matt Shattock, president and CEO. “Jim Beam is ‘America’s Native Spirit,’ so it’s only fitting that we support our nation’s heroes through the good work of Operation Homefront.”

Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to families of those in military service and to wounded warriors. Beam has given this charity $2.5 million since beginning the partnership.

Globally, a corporate spokeswoman confirms that the company gives approximately $1 million a year. And that includes their greatest asset, the premium liquors the company produces and generously donates to galas and benefits in our area.
