Dinosaurs Come Alive at the Brookfield Zoo

Go back in time at the Brookfield Zoo with their new exhibit, “Dinosaurs Alive!”

The exhibit, which is the closest thing we have to our very own “Jurassic Park” features 24 life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and make noise with the press of a button. Created by the innovative folks from Dinosaurs Unearthed, the zoo’s new exhibit is chock full of educational information presented in an entertaining way.

Older kids will love the lifelike dinosaurs as well as the fun and witty graphics that showcase key facts and trivia related to each animal. Throughout the exhibit, interactive placards highlight similarities between the dinosaurs and their modern day ancestors, which is fitting given the zoo setting. For younger kids, there is a “Dino Dig” area where they can experience life as a paleontologist digging for fossils. Whether you’re a dinosaur enthusiast or just looking for a fun activity to do with the kids, you won’t be disappointed with “Dinosaurs Alive!”

“Dinosaurs Alive!” runs through October 27th at the Brookfield Zoo, which is located at First Avenue between Ogden Avenue and 31st Street in Brookfield, Illinois. Tickets for the exhibit are $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors over 65 (which is in addition to regular zoo general admission). Children 2 and under are free and members pay half price.
