How to Help:

There are a number of impactful organizations helping moms in need in our communities. New Moms, a 2017 Make It Better Foundation Philanthropy Award winner, provides unconditional and meaningful support to young moms who “want to find a safe place to live, get a quality job, and give their children a brighter future — even if they have no idea of where to start.” Nearly 70 percent of these young moms are victims of sexual or domestic abuse, and many are homeless. Your donation to New Moms could make a huge different in the life of a young mother and her children.

The Karen Dove Cabral Foundation is another deserving nonprofit that helps support young mothers during breast cancer treatment. Women undergoing medical treatment for breast cancer need three types of support: informational, emotional and practical, according to the Susan G. Komen organization, the largest and best-funded breast cancer organization in the U.S. While the informational support typically comes from medical providers, and the emotional support from family and friends, it’s the practical help that can often cause stress and anxiety for patients. This is where the Karen Dove Cabral Foundation steps in to help. Donate to support their meaningful work.
