‘O, the Oprah Magazine’ Launches New Clothing Line

Talbots

This spring, O, the Oprah Magazine has partnered with Talbots to debut a limited edition seven-piece capsule collection. The line is available at Talbots stores nationwide Feb. 22 through April 3, with a launch party at Talbots at Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie on March 3.

O’s Creative Director and one of the most respected fashion authorities in the business, Adam Glassman, teamed up with Talbots head designer, Leon Green, to design the spring line inspired by Oprah’s casual and comfortable lifestyle.

“Every item in the capsule collection is modern and classic — pieces that women will want to add to their spring wardrobe and enjoy wearing in fun ways,” says Deborah Cavanagh, Talbot’s Senior VP of Marketing. Expect “beautiful, feminine and versatile pieces with special and unexpected details.”

“The collection consists of all the ‘basics,’ from a white button-down and pair of pants to a pencil skirt, dress and cardigan. There are even two accessories including a scarf and statement necklace,” explains Glassman. “There are floral prints inspired by Oprah’s gardens of roses and hydrangeas in her California home and subtle, but thoughtful, details such as a grosgrain ribbon on the pencil skirt as Oprah always says, ‘God is in the details.’”

Talbots dressGlassman commends Talbots for making their clothing available to women of all shapes and sizes, with Oprah’s collection being no exception. “The collection is geared for women of varying physiques, ages and ethnicities. Talbots literally has every size for every woman — from petite to plus and EVERYTHING in between, which I love,” he says. The price points also make the clothing accessible to many women. “The collection will retail from $60 for the Ombre Stripes Scarf to $189 for the Hydrangea-Print Fit & Flare Dress,” explains Glassman.

In keeping with Winfrey’s passion for philanthropy, 30 percent of each sale will benefit Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, as well as professional work attire. Talbot’s has been working with Dress for Success since last March and has seen overwhelming response from their customers who love the opportunity to give back. Glassman adds, “Partnering with Talbots for a collaboration that empowers women in such an influential way was very natural. We have always featured real women of all sizes in the pages of O and give them the tools and resources they need to make them look and feel their best.”

Spring is the perfect time to clean out your closet and make room for fresh items. Starting March 3, Talbots will have collection bins in every store coast to coast where you can donate your nearly new wear-to-work clothing and accessories for Dress for Success.

At the March 3 launch party from 6 to 8 p.m., customers will have the chance to get style tips from Glassman in-person and shop the new collection at 25 percent off. The first 50 customers will receive a special gift from O.
