Rosie O’Donnell Taping Opportunity

On Tuesday, October 18, Rosie O’Donnell will be taping a show about women’s reactions to a new documentary called, “Miss Representation.”

The film brings together some of the most influential women in the world to give audiences an inside look at the media’s depiction of women, showing how the media is educating yet another generation to believe that a woman’s primary value is in her youth, beauty and sexuality versus her capacity as a leader, thinker and doer.

The documentary will be broadcast October 20 on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), followed by “After the Doc,” the show that Rosie O’Donnell is hosting.

Interested?

For the taping on the 18th, OWN is looking to fill the audience with young women, ages 17 years and up, who can relate to the film. 17-year-olds need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Women over the age of 18 can bring their parent, too, but they can also come with a girlfriend. They want a mostly female audience, though fathers are always welcome. They are also looking to book women in college and in their 20’s and 30’s, so if any of you fall in that category, consider attending yourself.

Anyone interested should send an email to HarpoStudiosAudience@oprah.com. Include your age and your story — a brief description of how you feel about the topic. The OWN audience team will go through the emails and book people who really relate to the topic or have a story to tell. When you email OWN, indicate that you are part of the New Trier Township community and the audience team will give special attention to those emails.

You must be available to be at Harpo Studios at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 18 to first view “Miss Representation” and then to stay for the taping of “After the Doc.”
