The Winnetka Music Festival Headliner Is…

Wild Belle

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for: the headliner for the Winnetka Music Festival on June 23 and 24 is being announced. Drumroll, please … it’s Wild Belle! The sibling duo Natalie and Elliot Bergman are native Chicagoans and have garnered major press for their protest-inspired music. You might not have heard of them, but Wild Belle has been the talk of the emerging music world for quite some time.

Wild Belle played with an eight-piece band at Lollapalooza in 2015, appeared on Conan, performed at Dusk Music Festival in Arizona (with major names like Matt and Kim and Danny Brown), and has even been profiled in GQ magazine. The band has also worked with a massive array of producers in a number of studios, including Doc McKinney (who has worked with superstar rapper The Weeknd), Pat Carney of The Black Keys and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio.

Their music mixes reggae, soul and jazz in exciting new ways, and draws heavily from cross-country (and Jamaican!) influences. Though they’re currently based in Los Angeles, the band has moved back and forth from Chicago for a number of years.

You’ll be able to hear Wild Belle on Saturday, June 24, along with bands like Alabaster, The War on Peace, Heather Maloney, Great American Canyon Band, Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers, Brendan James, Logan Brill and Jared & The Mill.

FYI, Jared & The Mill has shared the stage with huge bands like Zac Brown Band, Cake, Flogging Molly and The Killers. They’ll also be playing at Firefly Music Festival in Delaware this summer, a massive four-day event where bands like Weezer, The Weeknd, Muse, The Shins, Busta Rhymes and Dillon Francis will be playing.

The Winnetka Music Festival is an amazing chance to see a dozen hand-picked bands that are bursting onto the music scene — all for free, and right in your backyard.

If you want to take a break from the tunes, the festival will also feature street performers, food trucks and craft beer. The North Shore Art League will also be hosting their annual art fair in Hubbard Woods Park that weekend, so there will be a lot of excitement to contend with. See you there!
