A Mesmerizing New Production of Eric Carle Classics

You’ve never seen a puppet show like this before!
Eric Carle’s stories come to life in a magical new performance produced by Chicago Children’s Theatre and the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia. The show, “A Brown Bear, a Moon and a Caterpillar: Treasured Stories by Eric Carle,” showcases three of Carle’s time honored classics with a unique mix of striking visual effects and innovative puppetry that will leave both you and your kids spellbound.

The show is appropriate for children of all ages who will likely be captivated by the ingenious performance which includes floating animals, disappearing moons and an over-zealous caterpillar. After each performance the artists appear on-stage for a robust Q & A session that highlights their many visual tricks.

A Brown Bear, a Moon and a Caterpillar: Treasured Stories by Eric Carle,” runs through May 27 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theatre in Chicago. Visit the Chicago Children’s Theatre for information about tickets and show times. Be sure to check out their upcoming celebrity readings where Governor Pat Quinn, Ralph Covert (of “Ralph’s World” fame) and WGN’s Ana Belaval will read their favorite Eric Carle story before a performance.
