Spend some time with your family in Chicago at Navy Pier’s Winter WonderFest or the Art Institute, where you can build a gingerbread house. Or, enjoy some music at 27 Live and Found Kitchen and Social House. Plus, a laugh-out-loud funny Second City show is coming to the ‘burbs.
Start your weekend with a concert at 27 Live. Corky Siegel says local blues/rock musician Will Tilson is “as good as it gets.”
In the midst of holiday craziness, we could all use a break to laugh at holiday craziness. The Second City brings this hilarious show to Arlington Heights every year, but you can keep coming back because you’ll never see the same show twice.
Sign up for this special family event at the Art Institute (11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.) on National Gingerbread House Day, and then explore the museum, including the Holiday Thorne Rooms.
Frank Babbitt, Lyric Opera of Chicago violist, will perform “A Christmas Carol” with live musical underscore. Seating is limited and reserved seating is only available to those with reservations before or after the show.
If you haven’t been to Navy Pier’s Winter WonderFest yet, visit this weekend and meet Chicago Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk. WinterFest offers ice skating, 24 rides, a Ferris wheel and more, all indoors.
- Take home a complimentary family photo at Chicago Botanic Garden’s Wonderland Express on Sunday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
