The Women’s Board was founded in 1960. Since that time, it has provided major funding for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s (RIC) Charity Care Fund and has made significant annual contributions to many special programs including:
-LIFE Center
-The Pediatric/Adolescent Rehabilitation Program
-The Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Sports Program
-Therapeutic Recreation Department
-Galvin Health and Fitness Center
-Vocational Rehabilitation
-Research Department
The Women’s Board is comprised of nearly 100 civic-minded members who, through fundraising and volunteerism, have made a strong commitment to supporting RIC’s vision of Advancing Human AbilityTM through science and research as well as its mission of providing the highest quality patient care, research and education.
