The New Trier Educational Foundation hosted Gala 2022 on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel in Northbrook. Proceeds from the gala help to fund exceptional educational opportunities throughout New Trier. The Alumni Hall of Honor Class of 2022 received their Alumni Achievement Awards at the gala. The guests were treated to moving remarks from the honorees, either in person or in a submitted video, during the evening. Fran Feuer Deken, Class of 1961, is a top-tier competitor, first finding the national spotlight as a standout at the University of Iowa in the early 1960s. Deken’s dedication and performances also have earned her induction into the Southern Nevada USBC, PWBA, Tulsa Area USBC, Oklahoma State USBC, Greater Kansas City USBC and Kansas State USBC Halls of Fame. On the lanes, she has earned multiple state and local titles, and has represented the United States multiple times. As a member of the USBC Hall of Fame Committee, Deken played a role in expanding and supporting women in bowling.
