Katie Cory combines her two loves, fashion and Scandinavia, with the opening of her new store “Skandal” in downtown Winnetka.
Beginning with her store opening on a Thursday, a day of good luck for business, Katie incorporates her richly Scandinavian background into her new, fashion-forward boutique. Offering outerwear, handbags, household goods, scarves, shoes, jewelry and, of course, exquisite clothing, 75% of the brands at Skandal are imported from Scandinavia—even the wallpaper is from Denmark! Other lines hail from Paris, the Netherlands and the U.S.
Katie describes her boutique as “fun and quirky,” with clothing that is “simple yet elegant, easy to wear and practical.” Scandinavian styles are all about functionality, with clean-cut lines and aesthetically beautiful pieces which Katie is excited to share with the North Shore. Skandal has already been a hit in Winnetka, so be sure to check it out and attend Katie’s official ribbon-cutting opening on Wednesday, September 19th from 5-6:30 p.m.
