On Saturday, June 18, A Silver Lining Foundation raised $55,000 at its 14th Annual Tasting Stars event held at the DIRTT Environmental Solutions Showroom in Chicago. This premier champagne tasting event attended by more than 120 people was hosted by Ann and Brent Carstensen, Clare and Dave Petersen, Lynne and Stuart Gunn, Lisa and Michael O’Rourke, Sara and Bart Katz and Julie and John Crumley.
A Silver Lining Foundation’s mission is to ensure that socioeconomic status does not affect an individual’s ability to obtain dignified, respectful and equal access to quality cancer and education services such as information, timely cancer screenings and diagnosis. All of the money raised at the Tasting Stars event will benefit ASLF’s Buy A Mom A Mammogram program, which provides access to cost-free screening mammograms and other diagnostic procedures to uninsured or underinsured individuals. Proceeds from this year’s event will help 200 women receive free mammograms and the necessary follow-up testing.
