Not sure what to do with the homecoming dress that’s been wasting away in your daughter’s closet? Look no further: the Party Dress Project can take care of it! 
Founded in 2009 by Stacy Simpson and Beth Hirshman, the Party Dress Project aims to help girls add to their party dress collection (without breaking the bank) as well as benefit local teenage girls. The Project has been able to donate over $5,000 to a different service agency each year, chosen by the Project’s Junior Board of teenage girls.
The Project accepts clean and gently used teen party dresses from a host of events, including bar/bat mitzvahs, confirmations, dance classes, graduations, dances and other formal events. You can drop off the dresses at a number of locations across the North Shore for your convenience, including stores in Highland Park, Northbrook, Chicago, Deerfield, Buffalo Grove and Wheeling. The dresses will then head to the “Boutique”, located in the Autohaus on Edens, where they will be sold for $25 each on October 14th from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Due to the death of three teenage boys this summer in Northbrook, the Junior Board has selected Willow House as the 2012 recipient. Dedicated to supporting children, teens, families and entire communities in coping with death, Willow House offers peer support groups, educational resources and community programs and workshops. The proceeds from the Party Dress Project hope to re-instate a Family Camp program that the Willow House was forced to cancel due to a lack of funding.
