Santa Claus is coming to town this winter – in a big way.

Whether it’s at the mall or on the train, there will be plenty of chances for you to spot Saint Nick this season. Here are our top five picks:

What would Christmas be without a trip to see Santa at the mall? You can visit a real bearded Santa at his Northbrook Court holiday garden. Children are welcome to sit with Santa and tell him all of their Christmas wishes. The professional photos taken are available for you to purchase.

Train Rides with Santa
Purple Line – December 15, 17 & 21
Red Line- December 14, 16, 17 & 20
Weekends 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Select weekdays 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Your commute just got a lot more festive. The CTA Holiday Train, which is adorned inside and out with thousands of lights and festive decorations, will be travelling on various lines up until Christmas. Santa and his elves will wave to you from a sleigh in the middle of the train as you board and get off.

Santa makes story time special at the Barnes & Noble in Old Orchard. Make a craft and listen to a story while enjoying holiday songs performed by the Niles North High School chorus. You are welcome to snap a picture of your children with Santa.

Breakfast with Santa

Enjoy a holiday breakfast with Santa, courtesy of the Northfield Park District. There will be story time, sweet treats and plenty of opportunities to tell Santa all of your holiday wishes. Children will also get a treat bag to take home with them.

Supper with Santa

Enjoy dinner at the Chicago Botanic Gardens with Santa. The evening’s menu boasts selections sure to please your whole family. You are also welcome to visit the Wonderland Express to see miniature trains navigating bridges, waterfalls and over 80 of Chicago’s favorite landmarks.
