It’s going to be a crowded weekend in Chicago, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the Chicago Air and Water Show or the Great American Lobster Fest. You can also stop by a Birchbox pop-up event that will help the company decide where to locate their permanent store next year.
Or, if you would rather stay in the suburbs, shop local produce at Chicago Botanic Garden or see the latest exhibit at a local gallery.
Birchbox is hitting the road to decide which city will become the new home of a Birchbox permanent store in 2016. The road trip stops in Chicago with two shipping containers that will transform into shops featuring a Build Your Own Birchbox area and free beauty and grooming services. You can also meet the cast of “Empire.”
This summer favorite is back with headliners U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights, U.S. Navy Parachute Team Leap Frogs and the Breitling Jet Team, new to this year’s show.
Visit Navy Pier this weekend for the Midwest’s largest lobster festival, which coincides with the Air and Water Show. Live lobster will be flown in from Boston, and you can enjoy live music, family-friendly activities, shopping and libations.
After an eventful weekend, it can be nice to end on a more relaxing note. Stop by the Chicago Botanic Garden and shop seasonal produce, flowers, herbs and more fresh products.
Through Sept. 30
