Sip Wine and Spirits at a Special Holiday Tasting Benefitting Holiday Heroes

The North Shore Wine & Spirits Event, held Nov. 10-11, 2018, supporting Holiday Heroes, offers a unique holiday experience to taste wines and spirits from around the globe at Art Center Highland Park (1957 Sheridan Road, Highland Park). After finding the perfect wines and spirits, you will be able to purchase bottles and cases to take home or order for delivery.

Every taste and order will help make a joyous experience for hospitalized children through the wonderful Holiday Heroes program.

Learn about innovative imported and domestic beverages. Brand representatives will be on hand to share their expertise at their booths and in seminars throughout both days. Special highlights include a presentation from Bénédicte Hardy of A. Hardy Cognac, which has a 150-year history of making some of the world’s finest cognacs, and El Nacimiento’s special-edition, commemorative hand-blown Illinois-shaped bottle filled with a seven-year-aged Extra Añejo, honoring the Illinois Bicentennial, a year-long celebration of Illinois becoming the 21st state in the Union on Dec. 3, 1818. The Illinois Craft Distillers Association will be represented by two outstanding members.

The Mission of Holiday Heroes

Being in the hospital is scary. When Holiday Heroes comes in with a party and a few hours of fun, it helps “take a child’s mind away from the pain, anxiety and stresses of being hospitalized, encouraging healthy social development and better recovery from illness,” Holiday Heroes says.

The organization has partnered with 14 hospitals in the Chicago area, including La Rabida Children’s Hospital, Comer Children’s Hospital, Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn and Park Ridge, and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
