SPACE is heading outside for four days of concerts at Canal Shores Golf Course. Don’t miss Cake on Aug. 8, Mandolin Orange and I’m With Her on Aug. 9, Jeff Tweedy on Aug. 10, and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers with Suzanne Vega on Aug. 11. Bring your own food (outside alcohol is not permitted) or purchase food from Farmhouse, Ten Mile House, Viet Nom Nom, and more.

Access Contemporary Music presents the city’s only classical music street fest with a performance of “1,001 Afternoons in Chicago,” a presentation of modern silent films from ACM’s Sound of Silent Film Festival, a performance by the Dinner Brothers Family Circus, and more.

This festival is all about the vegetarian lifestyle, but you don’t need to be a vegetarian to enjoy food demos and fare from the international food court, health and wellness talks, kids activities, live music, and more.

  • Join Roka Akor Oak Brook for Japanese Whisky Fest, a tasting event, on Aug. 10. Passed hors d’oeuvres and small bites will be available.
  • The free Lincolnshire Art Festival brings 100 juried artists to the Village Green Aug. 10-11. Enjoy live music, food, and kids activities.
  • Calling all Big Ten fans and alum: The BTN Big 10K is Aug. 11 at Grant Park. Whether you participate in the 10K or 5K run/walk, compete for your team before celebrating the return of football with a tailgate featuring mascots, cheerleaders, food, beer, music, games, and more.
