This family requested a large entertaining area perfect for their extended family. However, they still wanted smaller entertaining areas for more intimate gatherings. Their new backyard, featuring a beautiful blend of natural rocks, grass and stone, is the perfect space for them. Now they can entertain both large and small groups thanks to seating areas under a trellis and near a fire pit as well as plenty of room to roam.
French Sophistication
Looking for an extreme makeover with French flair, this homeowner found inspiration in the checkered tiles found in French cafes. A designer himself, he also picked out a brick fireplace that connected this new outdoor area to the brick of his home. Birdcage chandeliers complete the space and provide just the right amount of lighting.
Steep Slope
Worried about the change in elevation in your backyard? Don’t be! This home’s updated outdoor space is proof that you can still have a gorgeous backyard even if you’re working with a slope. As you can see, these homeowners worked with their contractor to create an upper pool patio that connects to a fire pit area below using retaining walls and steps. They now have more outdoor space and the benefits that come from using materials that control land erosion.
