Charmm’d Foundation Community Leadership Development

Charmm’d is currently accepting applications for its next Leadership Development cohort.

The Charmm’d Foundation, started in 2005 by Sheri Miller, offers leadership development to individuals in schools, local governments and other tax-exempt organizations in three North Shore townships—Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, New Trier and Zion Benton.

This program gives community leaders free training—including the Kellogg School Of Management Leadership Program—as well as other activities. The goals of this program are to:

  • Build effective relationships and teams
  • Celebrate successes
  • Creatively solve problems
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Develop self-awareness
  • Manage emotions
  • Develop motivational strategies
  • Reduce stress and improve time management
  • Value and lead strategic conversations

Upon completion of their leadership training, participants are expected to pay it forward and develop the next generation of leaders in their own organization. Charmm’d has implemented successful programs at New Trier High School, Wilmette Junior High School, Lake Forest/Lake Bluff grade schools and Zion Benton Township.

Building on Success

Charmm’d grew from Miller’s experience and expertise. She worked in the business her father founded and built to be the largest online supplier of office supplies in the country: Quill Corporation. After Quill was sold to Staples, Inc., Miller founded and ran her own business before deciding to build up the community she loves through the Charmm’d Foundation.

Miller’s vision is to seed nonprofit organizations with individuals trained to improve the culture of the entire organization. Win for the leader/win for the organization/win for the community it serves.
