Fashion’s Night Out 2011

Fashion’s favorite night is this Thursday, September 8, in anticipation of the kickoff of New York Fashion Week, and Chicagoland stores are getting in on the action.

 

Read on for a list of events going on from the North Shore to Michigan Avenue and turn your gears to “fabulous.”

Winnetka

Local Stores, 5–8pm

Northbrook
Neiman Marcus, Northbrook Court, 6–8pm

Meet Kyle Korver of the Chicago Bulls as Neiman Marcus salutes the Kyle Korver Foundation. 100% of sales from his Seer Outfitters t-shirts will benefit the KKF and its projects.

Enjoy cocktails and light bites throughout the evening, and at 7pm, catch a fall trends runway show. The store will also be raffling off a NM gift card along with two tickets to a Chicago Bulls game and a signed jersey from Kyle.

Northbrook Court, 5–9pm

Visit vignettes throughout the center featuring modeling, dancing and music inspired by the fashion capitals of the world. Spend $250 or more at any Northbrook Court retailer and receive a $20 Shop, Etc. gift card, or win an exclusive Northbrook Court clutch if you’re one of the first 100 guests to stop by the Fashion Lounge. Also in the Fashion Lounge, make a donation to charity partner Global Impact and be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Paris!

Chicago
900 North Michigan Shops, 6–9pm

900 North Michigan is transforming into a multilevel event space, where guests can enjoy activities like a Mario Tricoci and Bloomingdale’s beauty bar, complete with lash extensions, makeup applications and styling tips; a Guilt City epicurean tasting with local craft beers and restaurant booths; flash fashion shows throughout the night; and much more. Stores including J. Crew, Max Mara and Michael Kors will be throwing in-store celebrations with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, plus special gifts and giveaways.

Shoppers who spend $1000 between now and Thursday evening at 900 North Michigan will get special access to a Grey Goose VIP lounge hosted by Bravo TV’s Brad Goreski!

Spend $10 at the event and get $6 parking from 5pm–2am.

Saks Fifth Avenue, Michigan Avenue, 6–9pm

Designer of fabulous footwear Brian Atwood will be on hand to help Saks unveil its new premier shoe salon. Guests can enjoy cocktails, music and informal modeling.

Neiman Marcus, Michigan Avenue, 6–8pm

While shopping, see live fashion illustrations from local Chicago artists at 6:30pm, with proceeds from a following auction benefitting Imerman Angels, then catch a fashion show at 7pm featuring fall’s best trends. Throughout the night sample tastings from some of Chicago’s top restaurants. Factor will also be conducting a model search for aspiring runway walkers.

Macy’s Water Tower Place, Michigan Avenue, 6–11pm

Enjoy special beauty gifts and raffle prizes in the new cosmetics department, plus spa treatments on the 4th floor at the KIVA salon. Receive a free gift with purchase in women’s shoes, and demonstrate your fashion know-how in the “How Do I Look?” fashion challenge, with the opportunity to win a $100 Macy’s gift card.

At 6pm, catch a special appearance by actress and comedian Nora Dunn, star of “Love, Loss, and What I Wore,” premiering on September 14 at the Broadway Playhouse.

Macy’s on State Street, 6–8pm

Enjoy a variety of special gifts with purchase, contest giveaways, raffle prizes and other promotions throughout the store, as well as beauty treatments at the KIVA salon. At 7:30pm, see a Runway-to-Reality fashion presentation featuring the hottest fall fashion for men and women, hosted by Kyle Richards of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

From 6–8pm, stop by the juniors department to see special guest Kelly Osbourne, the face of the Material Girl Collection. The first 75 guests to make a $35 Material Girl purchase will have a chance to get their photo taken with Kelly.
