Better Makers: ‘Be My Valentine’ Event Raises $100,000 for the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation

On February 7th, more than 500 attendees raised over $100,000 benefitting the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation at the 9th Annual Be My Valentine Family Event. Co-chaired by Sarna Lee Goldenberg, Libby Langsdorf and Katie Schwartz the event was hosted at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and held a number of activities for guests. The 10 a.m. event started with an amazing brunch including an assortment of breakfast options like French toast, a Belgium Waffle bar and Mimosas as well as delicious lunch choices like the ‘Ritz’ macaroni & cheese and crispy chicken. Entertainment throughout was given courtesy of the Jessie White Tumblers, All About Dance, Art Beat Live and Ben’s Bubble Show along with special character appearances by Sparkles Entertainment. Activities for the whole family included sweet decorating with Sweet Mandy B’s, cooking demonstrations by Foodstirs, kids hair and makeup by Pixi Girl and carnival activities with Dale Bloom of Clowning Around.

The $100,000 raised go towards breast cancer research with the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation, which since its start in 1985 has raised over $30 million towards breast cancer research and fellowship funds for breast surgeries, pathology, imaging and hematology/oncology “to ensure that more patients have access to professionals with advanced training in the treatment of breast cancer. ”
