Better Makers: EISENOPOLY Raises a Record $215,000 for Gastrointestinal Cancer Research

An evening fit for both a gamer and gourmand, EISENOPOLY is a fundraiser like no other. The evening, hosted by the Associate Board of the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation, revolves around competitive speed rounds of the family favorite board game Monopoly.

The 10th annual EISENOPOLY raised a record of $215,000 for gastrointestinal cancer research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University. Proceeds directly support the GI Cancer Tissue Bank and the $1.5 million dollar commitment to the Harold E. Eisenberg GI Cancer OncoSET program.

More than 550 guests gathered at Revel Market for the joyous evening of gaming, food, music, and philanthropy. The night was a food lover’s dream, with some of the city’s top chefs and local restaurants serving up their specialties. Partygoers enjoyed dishes from Brown Bag Seafood, Cafe Robey, Capital Grille, Formento’s, Gene & Georgetti, Nando’s Peri Peri, Press Room, Wow Bao, and more.

There was no shortage on party, with loads of prizes, live music from Gold Coast All Stars, and a makeshift jail. Additional money was raised for the foundation as friends threw each other in jail, needing to collect bail to be released.

Among the many luxurious silent auction winnings, one lucky guest landed the exclusive opportunity to join the crew behind the counter at Chicago’s legendary late-night hotdog stand The Wiener’s Circle.

Event sponsors included presenting sponsor Lakeside Bank and platinum sponsors Blue Water Builders and The Carpet Group. The 2019 cochairs included Michael Mintz and Hanna Oimoen.
